Death Trap

£9.90

‘Death-trap’ is set in London in the early 1980’s. A London of Thatcher,  the I.R.A. and the Brixton riots. Teenagers were divided into tribes and our Mod protagonist, Mick, runs the gauntlet of the other teenage tribes of Punks, Skinheads Punks and Casuals. As well as the tribes Mick becomes aware of the world of promoters, DJs, drug dealers and right-wing racists that are in and around the scene. Mick takes up with Claire ,a peroxide blonde who is not scared by the ever-increasing violence that surround them. But is she who she appears to be? As one might expect in a world of amphetamine fueled, drunken teenagers there are hilarious moments that culminate in an explosive ending. Allen writes in an engaging style. He has been immersed in the Mod /Scootering world for most of his life and speaks from knowledge with a keen eye for detail.

Death Trap

By Roger Allen

‘Death Trap is set in London in the early 1980s. A London of Thatcher, the IRA, and the Brixton riots. Teenagers were divided into tribes, and our mod protagonist, Mick, runs the gauntlet of the other teenage tribes of punks, skinheads, and casuals. In addition to gangs, Mick becomes aware of the world of promoters, DJs, drug dealers, and right-wing racists that are in and around the scene. Mick takes up with Clare, a peroxide blonde who is not scared of the ever-increasing violence that surrounds them. But is she who she appears to be? As one might expect in a world of amphetamine-fuelled, drunken teenagers, there are hilarious moments that culminate in an explosive ending. Allen writes in an engaging style. He has been immersed in the mod / scootering world for most of his life and speaks from experience with a keen eye for detail.
